We are pleased to announce that Jordan Nobles will start as CMC BC’s new Library Assistant on Tuesday, February 19. The new appointment also makes it possible for us to extend CMC BC Library hours to open Saturday afternoons for the first time.
On February 19th onward, Jordan will be available for repertoire consultations, our highly-specialized Music Print & Bind service, and library loans in CMC BC’s extensive Barbara Pentland Library, from Tuesday to Saturday afternoons, 1:00–5:00 PM. Jordan replaces Stefan Hintersteininger, who is now working for the UBC Library.
Jordan brings a wide range of valuable skills, experience, and connections to the position, including managing libraries for both the CBC Chamber Orchestra and West Coast Symhony Orchestra. He is also an Award-winning Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre, has been co-artistic director of Redshift Music Society since its inception in 2001, presenting well over 100 contemporary classical music concerts in the Vancouver area. Jordan also helped launch award-winning Redshift Records in 2007.
Winner of multiple International composition awards, including a Western Canada Music Award, 2017 JUNO Award for ‘Classical Composition of the Year,’ as well as a CMC BC Barbara Pentland Award of Excellence, Jordan Nobles has worked as a producer and concert presenter in the Vancouver cultural community for over twenty years.
I hope you will join myself, Glenn Hodgins, our President & CEO, Keith Hamel, Chair, and the entire BC Advisory Council, along with Dave McLaughlin, our CMC BC Operations Manager, and Bill Orr, Archivist, in welcoming Jordan as the newest member of our team.
