CMC BC’s Victoria Engagement Leader, Christopher Reiche Boucher, has accepted a new position as Librarian with the Victoria Symphony. We wish Christopher every success in the new position, and are pleased to announce he’s agreed to continue in his position as CMC BC’s Victoria Engagement Leader, albeit with reduced hours.
In line with that change, we are particularly excited to announce that composer Kimberley Manerikar, a member of the Victoria Composers Collective, has accepted the position of Victoria Library Assistant with CMC BC. She will be staffing our Victoria Creative Hub at the Victoria Conservatory to handle custom music Print and Bind requests and library loans. The Victoria Hub will be open for eight hours per week, and the new hours will be posted early next week to CMC BC’s website and to CMC BC’s Victoria Creative Hub Facebook Page.
Kimberley holds both Master of Music Composition as well as Bachelor of Music Composition degrees from the University of Victoria, where she studied composition with Christopher Butterfield and Dániel Péter Biró, and piano with Eva Solar-Kinderman.
She is a composer whose works have been performed across Canada, and an active performer as both a soloist and in chamber music. As a pianist, Kimberly has premiered countless new pieces by emerging composers and is a dedicated educator with more than a decade of teaching experience.
In addition to a wealth of customer service experience, Kimberley has worked for a number of years with Music By The Sea in Bamfield, both as Stage Manager and Artist Coordinator. She has also been a volunteer with Music for Youth Works Society, chairing the Programming and Recruitment Committee, and offering support to the Program Director for the day-to-day operations of their programs.
We are delighted to have her join the CMC BC family!
