International Choral Kathaumixw Presented With Award of Excellence by CMC BC

Powell River, BC – The Canadian Music Centre in British Columbia (CMC BC) is proud to present an Award of Excellence to the International Choral Kathaumixw for their extraordinary contribution to Canadian music.

BC Director of the Canadian Music Centre, Sean Bickerton, presented the Award at the Gala Closing Concert on Saturday, July 9 at 8 PM. “CMC BC is thrilled to recognize the extraordinary contribution of the International Choral Kathaumixw to Canadian music over more than three decades, through performances and commissions of Canadian works,” said Bickerton.

International Choral Kathaumixw is held every two years and now features more than 1,200 singers from around the world, with choirs this year coming from as far as South Africa, New Zealand, Austria, USA, the Czech Republic and China.

The CMC BC recognizes extraordinary contributions to Canadian music across the province through its Award of Excellence Program.
