A Letter From CMC President & CEO, Glenn Hodgins
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Canadian Music Centre’s digital magazine, CMC Résonance!
For 60 years, the CMC has been a voice and home for contemporary Canadian composers. Our goal for CMC Résonance is to create a new space to celebrate artistic communities, supporters, and innovators across Canada, as well as to build awareness about creative communities in Canada.
The launch of CMC Résonance coincides with the launch of our new and improved website,
cmccanada.org. Our new site features smooth links to our regional sites, a refreshed shopping experience, as well as our much anticipated new and improved library system.
Throughout the year, the CMC will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with programming and
projects that will focus on “Honouring our Heritage – Creating new Legacies”. Stay tuned for special announcements and opportunities for you to celebrate 60 sonorous years with us!
Within this first issue of CMC Résonance, we ask for your input as we look to the future of the CMC. In an addition to news about our Associate Composers across the country, you will learn about the fascinating work of two composers as they grow through professional development opportunities.
It’s going to be a busy year at the CMC and we would love if you continue to stay in touch with us! To keep up to date on our programming, services, and news from our vast network of Associate Composers, please visit our us at cmccanada.org or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
We invite you to imagine the many ways in which to enjoy Canada’s composers, performers, and the many events where Canadian music flourishes.
Discover how much Canadian music can enrich your experiences by resonating with CMC Résonance.
