On Friday, Nov 10, CMC BC celebrated our 40th Anniversary with a Gala Open House from 5 – 7pm at our Vancouver Creative Hub.

Performances included the premiere of a new 40-second CMC Fanfare for trumpet written by Robert McKenzie and performed by Vincent Vohradsky, Second Trumpet with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. And Erato Ensemble performed three songs: One Black Spike by Jocelyn Morlock (from Five Songs for BC commissioned by former BC Director Colin Miles in celebration of BC 100); Elizabeth Knudson’s A Vagabond Song; and Remember by Stephen Chatman.

Glenn Hodgins, President and CEO of the Canadian Music Centre joined us for the event, and gave moving remarks noting the accomplishments of the CMC in this province.
